GliderNavi was developed in order to support AmateurPilot of Glider / Hang-Glider / ParaGlider.
This application will help you during a flight like GlideComputer.

How to use “GliderNavi”.

“Glider Navi” consists of 3 main screens.

1) NAV screen – This is the screen you will be using while you are flying.
Its showing the position of the plane on the map and WayPoint (WP).

2) WayPoint Screen – The screen to set up WayPoint (WP).

3) Setting Screen – the Screen to Setting-UP for using Environment.

This section describes How to use setting screen.
Please follow the instruction below.

LogRecord
Set ON/OFF on LOG acquisition“GPS”
If you set it to “ON”, it keeps track of the plane’s position, altitude, and azimuth direction.
The flight log can be transferred from iTunes and let “Google Earth” read the data on your PC.
Then, you will be able see your flight route on“Google Earth” with animated version as well.
Be sure to set it to “OFF” after you landed (You need to apply changes and re-write on the file before turning it off)

LoggingInterval
Setting up interval of record to the log file on GPS.
This Only applies when the “LOG RECORD” is on.
If you set up the “Logging Interval” to 1.0, It will give your position every 1 seconds.
If you set up longer period of time (2seconds and more), you will be able to keep longer flight log;
However the flight record (with longer time) you will see on the “Google Earth”later on might not be as sharp as you expect. For that reason, our recommendation is to set up the interval to 1.0.

GlideRatio
Setting up the glide ratio.
This is to figure out the gliding range to the WayPoint (WP) you set up on NAV screen. It is also showing the Gliding range by calculating glide ratio and current altitude (Please note that sea level altitude is set to 0ft on the Gliding range )

NAV-Screen Maptype
Select the Maptype on NAV Screen.
If you are able to use data communication 3G or other material, your location can be seen by setting any mode except【NONE】. If you are unable to do so, please set 【NONE】Then, WayPoint (WP) and your position is displayed precisely.

AltitudeUnit
For selecting the unit of altitude (Feet/Meter). Example below is set to “feet”

DistanceUnit
For selecting the unit of distance (nm/Meter). Example below is set to “nm”.

DirectionDataSource
Display method of Direction on NAV screen
If you set to “Compass”, you will need to use the compass an accompanying iPhone.
Advantage of using this :
1)it responds to the directional change quickly
2)A display is correctly possible even when a direction of movement and heading have a difference.

Disadvantage of using this :
1)It could make miscalculation if there is metal by the devise.
2) It has to be attached to the plane.Fixation is required.

When you set to “GPS course”.
Your moving direction will be used as “Direction”.
Advantage of using this:
1)You will be able to obtain the direction steadily.
2) iPhone doesn’t have to be attached to the plane.

Disadvantage of using this
1)Drift angle cannot be expressed.
